Job Title: Real Estate Equity Analyst

The Company

They are one of the world’s largest investment management and financial services groups with a global presence and brand name.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager for Europe, the Real Estate Equity Analyst will work alongside portfolio managers and other analysts with responsibility for research coverage of the UK and European real estate companies. The primary function will be to make specific stock and sector recommendations to the Investment Committee. Your role includes:

Macroeconomic real estate research

-- Review and analyse economic data

-- Analyze general market trends in individual regions of the world that may affect real estate markets

-- Read and synthesize commercial broker reports

-- Liaise with global offices of the company’s real estate research partner


Analyse company documents, regulatory filings and sell-side research

-- Analyse company press releases

-- Participate in conference calls with management teams and other analysts

-- Analyse geographic exposure of companies

-- Review sell-side research

-- Maintain contact with sell-side salespeople to stay on pulse of the markets

Develop and maintain valuation and risk management models

-- Create and update company-specific analytical models

-- Track portfolio performance

-- Update and track geographic exposure in the portfolio

-- Measure risk in portfolio versus the benchmark (using beta, variance, tracking error, etc.)

On-site property tours and inspection

Who they are looking for

The successful candidate MUST have ALL of the following skills, qualifications and attributes to be considered:
· A relevant finance, economics, accounting degree or equivalent

· REIT, private real estate or other investment management exposure preferable

· A CFA designation or working towards the CFA designation or interest in obtaining it


Excellent communications skills

A sound knowledge of financial markets, economics and general business issues.
