Private Equity Analyst (Fund of Funds)

Who they are
They are one of Europe’s largest investment managers. Part of their business is a successful private equity operation. Within that business there is an opportunity to join a small team with a well-established fund of funds portfolios who currently manage approx £200m spread currently manages 60 private equity investments at various stages of maturity.
What you will be doing
Working within a small team and reporting to the Partner and Head of Fund of Funds you will have a range of responsibilities. These cover Investment management – limited partnership investments and listed investments. Your role will be to maintain relationships with general partners of current limited partnership investments and relationships with listed investments, monitoring and analysis of general partner reports and associated investment performance and analysis and processing of amendments to existing limited partnership arrangements and On-going provision of internal Buy/Hold/Sell recommendations. You will cover new investments. This includes research into the relative attractiveness of European mid-market buy-out markets, idea generation for new primary, secondary and listed private equity investment opportunities, financial analysis of new investments and supporting role in transaction execution. You will also be involved in fund modelling, updating or development of HEP fund models for cash flow and returns’ analysis. Other Supporting Activities include management of relationships with banks lending at fund level and relations with investors.
Who they are looking for
- You must be educated to degree level or equivalent
- You must have excellent PC skills, particularly Excel modelling
- You need previous experience of working within the financial services and/or investment arena
- You need experience and knowledge of the private equity sector, preferably in relation to primary and secondary investment.
- You need strong analytical abilities and proven experience in financial modeling.
- You must have a high degree of numeracy
- You need excellent communications skills, both written and spoken
