Manager - Real Estate Operations
The Norwegian Government intends to include real estate as a separate asset class in the Pension Fund – Global. The Ministry of Finance envisages that up to 5% of the Fund may be invested in the sector in the medium term. In order to build and manage its real estate and private investment operations, NBIM is seeking to strengthen its organisation with a highly qualified professional who will report directly to the Global Head of Investment Administration (IA).
The IA department performs portfolio administration services for all of NBIM’s investments. The group works closely with NBIM’s global administration and settlement service providers to ensure efficient and controlled order flows. IA is in the course of building its operational expertise for alternative asset classes, including support of the Capital Strategies department and the Real Estate team.
Responsibilities
• Work alongside the relevant internal groups and act as point of contact for external service providers on the following activities:
administration of holding structures in various jurisdictions
cash flow management (funding of acquisitions and capital calls and management of distributions)
accounting, tax and regulatory filings.
• Participate in the on boarding and operational due diligence of new external fund managers and joint venture partners
• Interact with the finance and accounting departments of external real estate fund managers and joint venture partners on reporting and other operational issues
• Drive initiatives to continuously improve NBIM’s real estate systems and processes in line with international best practice
• Ensure that a comprehensive set of operational procedures is maintained
Requirements
• Master’s degree with strong academic records
• Relevant experience within real estate and/or private equity investment operations
• Strong focus on achieving goals
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English is required
