Job Title: Managing Director - Business Development

Black River, formerly Cargill’s proprietary trading operation Cargill Global Capital Markets, provides qualified investors with alternative investment strategies. Black River offers a wide range of investment products supported by experienced investment professionals, rigorous risk processes and a well-established global infrastructure.

Black River seeks to hire an experienced professional with commercial banking or equivalent transaction/securities structuring experience to join our Strategy and Business Development team. Business Development works with Black River's management team, portfolio managers and infrastructure experts to identify new opportunities, structure funds, and implement new products.


Principal Accountabilities:

80% Work with the Principals, Portfolio Managers, and the experts in tax, legal, leverage, accounting, operations, and other functional areas as required to develop structuring solutions for issues related to new business opportunities, fund launches, transaction structuring and legal entity formations around the world. Manage the day-to-day requirements to drive concepts and structures to conclusion, ensure new business opportunities are full analyzed, assessed and implemented carefully, and that deadlines are met.

15% Organize and run the implementation teams, project plans, and related documentation.

5% Participate in other Business Development and Asset Management projects as required.

Required:
· Bachelor's Degree.
· At least 7 years commercial banking, credit, structuring or equivalent experience including:
· Transaction, securities structuring
· Financing, collateral management
· Marketing
· Experience managing complex projects.
· Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and experience working with multi-cultural teams.
· Ability to influence without authority - must be able to build consensus and reach solutions with teams.
· Ability to manage relationships with external advisors, and experts ensuring that appropriate guidance and counsel are factored into decisions related to projects.
· Strong organizational skills - demonstrated ability to organize complex requests and projects. Attention to detail - able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and still complete work that is accurate, complete, timely.
· Proven ability to work independently, yet provide complete and timely updates to all appropriate parties teaming on any given project.

Preferred:
· MBA.
