Our client, a Global Investment Manager is looking to hire a Senior Fund Manager to be based in London and to report into the European Chief Investment Officer. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years experience working in Fund management as a Hedge Fund Manager or Fund of Hedge Funds Manager. The successful individual should have strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills and be able to interact confidently with key clients such as pension funds and corporate executives.
The Role:
• Working with large clients to design and build bespoke investment solutions across various traditional and alternative asset classes using provided research resources to identify, select and blend tailored portfolios that meet the client’s risk/return targets.
• Manage these bespoke portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure the portfolios achieve their objectives including overseeing performance attribution and risk management systems such as Style Research and Barra.
• Within their allocated funds / products, the fund manager will be responsible for sub-adviser selection / de-selection, for negotiation of mandate design etc for each product and sub-adviser.
• Act as point of contact for the designated clients and carry out regular reporting to the clients as well as participating in client specified projects from time to time.
• As a senior member of the investment team the successful individual will be expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the investment process.
Ideal Candidate:
• Up to 10 years + experience working as an investment consultant or hedge fund manager with demonstrated experience and knowledge of portfolio construction issues
• A third level qualification in a business/investment or related discipline is essential, an MBA is a positive
• Highly developed understanding of investment markets and the management of assets.
• Exposure to the European clients across multiple segments
• The ability to lead a wide range of projects across different functions
• A proven capability for oral and written communication at all levels as well as having excellent analytical, presentation and problem solving skills.
• Fluency in English - another major European Language is a positive
• The ability to establish a solid working relationship with clients, colleagues and other industry partners.
